This is a remake of the 1936 film by Hammer.Prior to their breakthrough horror films in the late fifties they used to make cheap rubbish such as this for the bottom half of double bills.Michael Medwin and his sister are occupying a country home which has hidden loot of which they are unaware.A gang is trying to get them to move out so that they can get their hands on the loot.At the same time Medwin and his sisters lover are hatching a plan to get him a lot of publicity. They will hide the sister in a secret hiding place. When her disappearance is discovered by the law they will put Medwin on trial for murder at which moment the sister will emerge from hiding. The film is just totally unfunny and is poorly acted and directed.Medwin keeps on pulling his hands through his hair as if that was the height of emoting. The film runs for barely an hour but seems like two.One to miss.
