Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Sex implied; may be either concensual or rape. Nothing explicit is shown on screen sex-wise.

Violence & Gore

A sword fight shown from two different perspectives. A charcter is killed; may be either murder or suicide. The film is in black and white and the swords piercing human bodies are not graphic or detailed in any way. If your kids have seen pretty much any modern action movie they have seen more intense violence than they will see in this movie.

Profanity

a few uses of wh***, he** and da**

A character references selling a sword to buy liquor.

The entire movie is intense revolving around a death and possible rape. However most of the violence/sexual content is implied rather than shown directly. This film existed prior to the formation of the MPAA, but would probably best be summed up as PG-13 level content by todays standards (and even then, most modern PG-13 movies have far more direct and explicit violence and sexual content than this film.)

The film does focus on some darker themes, including people's inner dark sides and desires, and people losing their faith in mankind.
