Trivia

Was originally pitched as a Bugs Bunny/Elmer Fudd pairing set in a barber shop, with no singing, but it was decided it would be funnier if it was a spoof of the classic opera The Barber of Seville. See more »

Goofs

When Bugs cuts the straps off Elmer's pants his underwear is red with flowers, a bit later on when an electric shaver comes to life and rips open his pants his underwear is white. See more »

Quotes

Bugs Bunny: How about a nice, close shave? / Teach your whiskers to behave. / Lots of lather, lots of soap. / Please hold still, don't be a dope. / Now we're ready for the scraping / There's no use to try escaping. / Yell and scream and rant and rave. / It's no use, you need a shave!
Elmer Fudd: [as Bugs slashes him with razor] Ooh! Ouch! Ouch! Ow! Ooh! Ooh! Ouch!
Bugs Bunny: There, you're nice and clean / Although your face looks like it might have gone through a ma-chine.

User Reviews

absolutely brilliant
29 December 2000 | by (Bethesda, MD) – See all my reviews

One of the best of the Warner Brothers cartoons. The scenes of Elmer Fudd chasing Bugs Bunny during the opera are so brilliantly done with the music. The chase scene with the bigger and bigger weapons is one of the all-time classics.
