Storyline

Jaime Karin is an astrologer, fortune teller and a scam artist, who uses his wife who works in an elegant beauty salon, to find out information on future wealthy clients, through her he learns that a millionaire Vittorio Romano died shortly after learning of his wife's infidelity. superb and intense thriller

I have seen it a time ago, so, i don't remember all the details of the plot, but the magnificent portrayal of Arturo de Cordova as the disfortuned fortune teller Karim (I think it's one of his best pictures, alongside with El of Luis Buñuel and El Esqueleto de la Señora Morales)who is trapped between the pure and fragile love of the character that play Carmen Montejo and the volcanic, twisted evil lust that display the character of the dangerous Leticia Palma, and the consequent moral debacle of Karim the magician, his lost of scruples and the very noir plot with murder and irreversible dark fate, makes this one of the great Mexican films of all times, i really mean it. When I see it i think that this film could be one that film Hitchcock, or Chabrol, or, well, I don't know...i just want to praise it, Roberto Gavaldòn did some great pictures such as Macario and, what else i can tell of the precision of the script by such a great writer as Josè Revueltas... i would love to see it again, more people should known this kind of lost gems, and it should be edited in DVD, i certainly like to have it.
