David Shields decides to become a ship designer instead of following the family tradition and entering farming.
One of the little hidden gems from the UK and the 1940's.
Predictable story line but wonderful acting and fantastic water-tank development scenes....
Working lad makes good, works his way up in the firm and ends up with the bosses daughter and revolutionizes (?) shipping design....
Reminds me of other great development movies (like the 1st British supersonic flight story) and a host of others made around that time..
Worth watching late night or on Saturday afternoons...
Cheers, JM
PS: Just wish our free to air stations in Australia would not put them on at 4am lol
