Definitely Worth A Watch But It Gets Kind of Pedestrian, 4 December 2003
6/10
Author: David (Handlinghandel) from NY, NY

This movie starts out in a stylish, sophisticated manner. It never turns into junk, but it is a clear precursor to television sitcoms. And look at who directed it!

The stepsisters have an appealingly warm relationship and both are charming. But their characters' names are similar and they don't look a whole lot different, apart from a bit of a difference in height. Having had a blonde and a brunette would have made the plot a little more clear.

Edward Arnold is always a pleasure, always. Jerome Cowan, a dashing private eye only four years earlier in "Crime By Night," is Robert Hutton's father here, and in a minor role at that. I wonder what his story was.
