The title is based on the song "Tea for Two" from the 1925 musical "No, No, Nanette" with music by Vincent Youmans and lyrics by Irving Caesar.
This short was nominated for an Academy Award in 1949, but lost to "The Little Orphan", an MGM Tom and Jerry film.
A stereotypical black ant was later edited out of this short.
Pinto Colvig, who was the original voice actor of Goofy and Pluto, provided the voice of the ants in this short.
This short included original music by Oliver Wallace.
