Trivia

In Britain the letters B. F. have a vulgar connotation, so the title was changed in the U.K. to the simpler "Polly Fulton." See more »

Quotes

Burton F. 'B.F.' Fulton: My money seems to have done you a lot of harm. I didn't mean it that way. I earned it for you... but for your happiness.
Pauline 'Polly' Fulton Brett: Oh, please, Darling.
Burton F. 'B.F.' Fulton: Polly, times are changing. I haven't wanted them to. A lot of people think that everything should be different, and they're quite honest about it, but I can't agree with them. I've been a builder, and the world needs builders - planners too, but builders, always builders.

One of Stanwyck's most disappointing pictures
21 June 2003 | by (PA) – See all my reviews

Glossy, slow-moving and inconsistent soap opera with heiress (Stanwyck) marrying college professor (Heflin), but they realize their true love for each other years later. Performances are good, except Heflin, who seems out of place. Also, the script is a mess, to say the least. *1/2 out of **** for this one.
