A Voice Is Born (1947)
This Columbia short (part of their "Two-Reel Special" series) tells the story of the Hungarian tenor, Miklos Gafni, who learned to sing while being confined in a Nazi slave-labor/concentration camp during World War II, and who had just made a successful New York City concert-hall debut. Mr. Gafni sings "The Return to Sorrento," "Vesti la Guiba," and an Hungarian love song.- Written by Les Adams <firstname.lastname@example.org>
