This film is recommended for fans of classic Spanish cinema and particularly of the great director Vajda .
The detective "Castro" (Manolo Morán), investigates a murder in a neighborhood near the port workers. Rumors indicate suspicion neighborhood an introvert and lonely tenant (Guillermo Marin) , who try to incriminate the real murderer with the help of a singer and dancer (Milú), who is his girlfriend and who the suspect is secretly in love .
In this film we can enjoy the wonderful skill of the great director Vajda, who provided movies to us as good as "Mi tío Jacinto" 1956 , "El Cebo" 1958 , "Marcelino Pan Y Vino" 1954 "Un ángel pasó por Brooklyn" 1957, "Carne de Horca" 1953 , ... in this film you can see a good atmosphere and assembly , which accompanies an excellent cast with some very good supporting actors in this case Tony Leblanc .
The black and white film is enhanced by the play of light and shadow of the splendid photography of Heinrich Gärtner, who collaborated with Vajda on more than one occasion. We emphasize the magnificent performance of the unforgettable Manolo Moran with his usual charisma that fills the entire screen .
After World War existed in the Iberian Peninsula, for a few years , a program of co - productions between Spain and Portugal took a few titles of entity , and has among its peculiarities with the existence of double versions . That is, films made in duplicate , with the same script and director but changing the performers on the grounds of nationality which was directed to market . And it was the story that the sequences were filmed twice, first by Spanish actors and then by Portuguese actors. One of those movies was "Barrio" . It was titled in Portugal "Viela, rua sem sun." In the Portuguese version of the performers were all different , except for the main character, the popular singer and actress, "Milú" .
