Nothing new, but well-done

The chief reason to watch this slick, turn-of-the-century melodrama is the see for yourself the luscious-looking Oberon, who, next to Liz Taylor and Ava Gardner, was one of the most beautiful women in films. And her acting, though not of the highest caliber, is competent and she does manage to invest some dimension into her woman-of-ill-repute character.
