For Mexicans born on U. S. soil, their traditions were meant for everyone to enjoy and appreciate, not to steal, and the same went for their property. For blustery American business man Thurston Hall, buying the property of the well to do Sandoval becomes an obsession so he can tear down all of those traditions and build a factory. The lovely but determined Mexican American Jinx Falkenburg (an American actually born in Spain) refuses to sell so Hall sends in nephew Jim Bannon to charm her and her grandmother (Marguerita Sylval) into selling. Romance of course inevitably blooms.

Lots of comic moments and good music among the stereotypes and cliches which includes Falkenburg's prankster loving younger sister, hot tempered Lita Baron and references to jumping beans and various Mexican dishes. But it's still a charming distraction with future movie Steve Cochran as a con-artist old pal of Bannon's pretending to be Mexican and scene stealing Isabel Withers as Hall's secretary who knows she's the smarter one in the room and keeps one step ahead of her boss. Hall of course is funny without being trying, a reminder of why a certain TV millionaire was based on him. Falkenburg and Bannon are a good romantic pair, with lots of talent as specialties and in smaller parts.
