This film focuses on German stalwart character actors that normally aren't playing leading roles. This movie focuses on a family that owns a wealthy pig farm estate. It involves a practical joke and one of their favorite pet pigs. Erik Pronto plays the head of the family Theobald Langendorf ,who owns the estate. His Brother is played by comedian actor George, Gayorgee,Alexander, who plays a retired captain Hienz, who is allegedly writing his memoirs. His sister is played by the divine anti Nazi actress singer and comedienne Grethe Weiser, as Julia. Herman Brix, of Titanic and Auf Station 3 fame, who plays the nephew Helmut. He's engaged to a ballet dancer, played by Dorit Kreysler, Ilse Braun. They want to marry, Iraten, but in order to get his families inheritance the whole family has to except her.His aunt Julia won't allow it unless their pet pig ,the princess,is slaughtered, I thinks. Will Dohm plays their servant Baldwin, Charlotte Schultz plays Agathe, a stock holder in the estate. Frtiz Kamper portrays their next door neighbor Eberhard, who also has a prize pig too.Theobald fears that Ebenhard make trouble for his prize pig, Eb is Julia boyfriend too.So Thau is suspicious. He hire detective, Detektiv,Bruch to find out more about his neighbor.Heinz does not want any one to see his memoirs that he's writing about So at first he gets his butler Baldwin to hide the diary for him, until Nephew finds out and decides to hide it for him.Julia is worried about what was written in that She hire the detective to find out what his diary's said.Theirs a funny scene where Rudolph attempts to open up the library cabinet to get the book and ends up destroying it,finally the nephew give the manuscript back to his Uncle Heinz. Then he entrust Bruch to protect it.But then Bruch wants to give the memoirs to Julia boyfriend, possibly so she can read what he Heinz might of said about her, But Bruch changes his mind, possibly cause he might of been asking for money for the manuscript and Eb said no,nine!.Well he manges to get it back and Eb chases him down. Ilsie going to sign a new contract for the ballet cause she's sick and tired of waiting for family approval, but Helmut has convince her that everyone excepts her and now all he has to do is get approval from Aunt Julia. Well Eb almost catches him and Bruach ends up throwing the script in the barn, from the window, where Princess ,the pig ,is.The scrip get scattered and the pig ends up eating half of it .Brauch tries to stop it. But Eb is laughing at it .Heinz shows up and Julia. Both are laughing. It turns out that it was all a joke on the detective and he actually did not write any diaries,Julea still refuse to except Ilsie , until Heinz makes threat to take Princess to the slaughter house,I think. another German character actor stalwart makes a guest appearance ,Albert Florath, just got this. It's a digital quality print with a news reel the only slight propaganda ,beside the news reel,is Ilse last name ,Braun,As in Eve Braun? the idea of having a favorite pet pig refers to Hitlers animal rights activism, cause he prefer them over humans.that's it 12/24/12
