This is the meet me in St.Louie of Germany. Made during the year The Nazis were beginning to lose and the Germans were becoming angry at Hitler. It was about time just to do escapism instead of propaganda. The Nazis were moody. They eliminated a lot of Jews. Got rid of character actor Paul Otto and Got rid of Joachim Gottchalk. Yet Hans Moser would not Divorced his wife , who was in Budapest Hungry to avoid the concentration camps, and did not go to jail. Comedian Actor Heinz Ruhmann had an actress wife , Hertha Fieler, who was Jewish. Nothing happen to either of them neither ,except after the war when Heinz was force to witness his wife being raped by Russian soldiers.Penny Hortens refuse to divorce her Jewish husband, The only punishment she had were less roles up until 1943. When Germany was bombed no body offer her shelter cause she was married to a Jew. After the war she went to D.E.F.A.. But by the time she came back to West Germany Every body forgot her. She died Broke in 1960.This was her come back for a big role. She plays a very bossy wife and mother and sister to her Family.Just like my Mother, She tries to control her two daughters personal life ,played by Marianne Simpson playing Emmi . Kathy Dykhoff, who played Carl Radatz one night stand in Immensee, plays Betti, She even very controlling to her brother, Fritz played by Hans Zech Ballots. She also fights with her Husband Karl, who runs a business in which there house is built to it, He's played by Paul Westermier. Her best friend, Kathinka, played by Elizabeth Flickenschilt .Whillemina is a writer too. She is writing a book about her family and having it published by a professor, who's name is exactly the authors of the real book. Julius Sinde, played by Kurt Vespermann .Kathinka daughter, played by Sigrid Becker,is engaged. While her son , who's a heel, played by Eric Fiedler, is courting Betti. Whilemina is very suspicious of him. While Emmi, played by the actress who played the body less head in Munchausen Marianne Simpson. She is introduce to respectable but young D.R. Wrenzchen, played by Metropolic actor Gustav Frohlic.Henny has her eyes on her Daughter Emmi marrying him. Grethe Wieser plays the servant Jette, who was introduced in another film back in 1935 with the same actress, Divine Jette. The starving Artist painter Gotfried, played by Helmuth Helsig, has his eye's on Betti too. There's a funny sequence in which the chauffeur thinks that Jette is bending down under the table and he give her light spank. It turns out to be Willamina. Another funny sequence, when they called the D.R. when Betti has fainted and he checks her but Emmi want to play patient to so she pretends to faint . Then actually does and Henny shows up in the room with the smelling sauce and see's both her daughters fainted so she starts to faint.Well It turns out that Kathinka decides that her son should marry someone else than her best friends daughter and the Buccholz all witness this at a café.Which he turns out to be a cad against his wife. While her daughter is happily married and has a baby boy. This makes an opportunity for Gotfried. When her brother Fritz gets interested in the niece of Adalied Hampel, A divorcée with two children, she get critical about her too.During the fair when the Buccholz are having a good time. Betti is now with the artist while Emmi is now engaged to Wrenzchen . Karl gets a little drunk and a women start to dance with him. Willamina gets mad and starts to chase every one with a big soft hammer, Eventually The D.R. proposes to Emmi and they get married . But Betti isn't married yet. I'll probably won't see the sequel. but that focuses on Betti.
