Storyline

Rich kid Danny Churchill (Rooney) has a taste for wine, women and song, but not for higher education. So his father ships him to an all-male college out West where there's not supposed to be a female for miles. But before Danny arrives, he spies a pair of legs extending out from under a stalled roadster. They belong to the Dean's granddaughter, Ginger Gray (Garland), who is more interested in keeping the financially strapped college open than falling for Danny's romantic line. At least at first... Trivia

After Busby Berkeley finished directing the finale ("I Got Rhythm" number, which was filmed first), he was fired by producer Arthur Freed and replaced by Norman Taurog. The reasons vary: modern sources say he was way over budget and behind schedule. Freed himself claimed it was because of a personality clash with Judy Garland, who requested his dismissal. romantic / comedy musical

This was the highest grossing movie in 1943 and nominated for an academy award . If you like old romantic /comedies , you're sure to like this film . It has 2 of my favorite stars Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney. The movie takes place on a western university . Throw in a spoiled city brat taking a shine to deans daughter and the university about to be closed ( due to lack of funds ) adds up to a funny and delightful movie. You get a little of everything in this movie - great songs , dancing , comedy , romance , cowboys/cowgirls - go out and rope in this movie and enjoy it tonight.
