Storyline

Marvin Howe (Eddie Quillan), a hired-hand on a dairy farm owned by Pop Turnbull (Samuel S. Hinds), devotes more time to playing his trombone than he spends on milking.. When Marvin and Pop's daughter, Juanita (Anne Rooney), announce their engagement, Tate Winters (Robert Mitchum), Marvin's rival, persuades Marvin to go to New York City on a "fool's errand'"; Mervin is instructed to get Pop a membership in the Dairymen's Association. where Pop has been refused many times because he raises goats not cattle. Marvin ends up playing with a music band and meets Dolly O'Brien (Mary Beth Hughes.) Complications quickly arise and Juanita returns Marvin's ring. Written by Les Adams (longhorn1939@suddenlink.net"

The 26 Year Old Robert Mitchum
3 November 2003 | by (London, England) – See all my reviews

This film is one of many that Mitchum was offered to pad out his career. As an actor, he needed to have work experience behind him in order to be hired. Therefore, his agent sent him for every role being offered, paying Mitchum between $75 per day and $100 per week. I think we can safely call this film padding.
