At home he is greeted by his uncle Ezekiel (Romea) and the servant Dimas (Prada). Ezequiel handed a sealed letter, addressed to him, written by his father 10 years ago, shortly before his death. The content of the card is the trigger for the action, which involved Mariana (Ribelles), Clotilde (Muñoz Sampedro), Edgardo Briones (Espantaleon), Micaela (Syria) and other characters. Fernando is smart, serious and decisive. Mariana is young, tall, slender, attractive and smart. Clotilde greater than Mariana, is spontaneous, naive, friendly and fun. Ezekiel is uncommunicative and mysterious.

The short film comedy, black comedy, mystery, horror and intrigue. What leads a young Rafael Gil, just turned 30 at the start of a long and prolific career, which combines trades writer, producer, director and critic. Passionate moviegoer knows and admires the American European cinema of his time.

His interest is credited Capra in this film. In his later work ("Nail", 1944), records his admiration for Hitchcock, Borzage and McCarey. Account in this and other films with effective collaboration as an assistant director of José Antonio Nieves Conde another extraordinary principal.

The film builds a new mood in the country, leaving aside the usual farces, of which explicitly away. Avoid treble, "Castizos" stereotypes, references defined the circumstances of time and place, etc. Led by Jardiel Poncela, writing dialogues, shapes a film surreal, absurd and improbable humor, which relies on quirky characters and crazy situations.
