I saw this film last year on TRIO, where the network let Quentin Tarantino put together a bunch of films and "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" episodes that he liked for a week of programming, in promotion of Tarantino's latest film, "Kill Bill Volume 1" (And now that "Volume 2" is being released, TRIO is re-airing all of the same programming, so you will probably have another chance to see it).

Now, I didn't know Quentin Tarantino was going to host this movie when I turned the channel on. I just thought that there was some really old movie coming on that was probably really funny, and I wanted to watch it.

And then Quentin Tarantino came on the screen, and announced it as one of his favorite movies, so as the movie was being shown, I started to realize why Quentin Tarantino liked this movie so much.

"Crazy House," starring Olsen & Johnson, whom I've never heard of (and, apparently, whom Quentin Tarantino never heard of when he first saw it, either), as a pair of comedians who try to make a big Hollywood movie, with no money whatsoever, but with really big movie stars and singers.

The film, as the title suggests, is crazy, and very funny. Olsen & Johnson's timing is perfect. The jokes are thrown out in a machine-gun fire movement that would make The Marx Brothers seem slow.

This is a great film, and I wish I owned a copy, but, apparently, it hasn't been released on VHS or DVD (I guess I'll have to record it the next time it comes on).

Oh well. It is a great film, and it's historically relevent. Now, you might say to yourself, "Oh really, how so?" Well, the basic plot, and the ending, where the studio tries to sabatoge Olsen & Johnson's movie, was remade as part of the 1976 Mel Brooks film, "Silent Movie," which is also a great movie, and very funny, but not as funny as Olsen & Johnson's movie.

For me, I give it 5 stars.
