Storyline

Set in WW II, the stooges are the only survivors of an American ship sunk by an enemy torpedo. Adrift on a raft, they come upon a German battleship and by various means, such as Moe disguising himself as Hitler, and Curly and Larry as Goering and Goebbels, manage to capture the enemy ship. Trivia

It is interesting to note that at the start of this short, Adele Mara who played Dizzy, was obviously very uncomfortable having to kiss Moe, she kept wiping her mouth for about 15 seconds after the kiss, the only one of the three girlfriends to do so. See more »

Goofs

The girlfriends introduce the Stooges as 'Dinky', 'Blinky' and 'Stinky'. But for the rest of the film, they're back to using their usual names of Moe, Larry & Curly. See more »

Quotes

Moe: [hiding on the Nazi ship with Curly and Larry] We gotta get into Nazi uniforms, somehow. If we're discovered, we're lost.
Curly: You're crazy. If we're discovered, we're found.

One of the Great Stooge Flicks
1 April 2003 | by (Los Angeles, California) – See all my reviews

This is not only one of the all time Stooge shorts, but it also features one of Moe's best performances as the "Little Bavarian Corporal". Moe Howard probably was the best imitator of Hitler (ironic for a Jew) and he does it to great effect in this film. Just check out "You Natzi Spy", "I'll Never Heil Again" and, my personal favorite, "They Stooge to Conga".
