A passably entertaining "B" musical, beautifully photographed by Franz Planer, of all people! In fact, his camera caresses Jinx Falkenberg most appealingly. The support cast is interesting too, although Eve Arden has only one scene and the so-called "comic", Bert Gordon, is nothing more than a talking bore. Charles Barton's so-called "direction" also delivers little to get excited about. In fact, Barton actually encouraged Planer to photograph some long, static takes featuring Bert Gordon's so-called "mad Russian". As noted above, these were all better left on the cutting-room floor, and were doubtless left in simply to keep the movie's running time up to the reasonable length of 66 minutes. Still, Charles Buddy Rogers does makes a likable hero, and the musical numbers are pleasant.
