The little mouse's tenacious efforts, including a high-wire act, balancing balls, and musical numbers, are explored within the newly discovered Dumbo storyboards at the Disney Archives. Among the pieces of artwork discovered are early storyboards by Disney Legend Mary Blair, completed in early 1940. These depictions of the duo's secret
nighttime efforts - horseback riding and stilt-walking - precede Blair's vibrant use of color influenced by her travels on the Studios South American goodwill tour. The friendship of Timothy Mouse and the little elephant with big ears is explored in newly discovered Dumbo storyboard art. Carefully collected more than 70 years ago in a folder marked Dumbo's Diary, these 37 pieces cast new light on the story's development.
