Trivia

Much stock footage is used from Universal Picture East of Java (1935) and others. Much familiar stock Universal music is also used. The plot element (including stock footage) of the shipwreck, wild animals (including lions) escaping onto the island, the survivors trying to protect themselves from the animals, with some being killed by the big cats, is taken from East of Java (1935). Actor Clarence Muse even appears in these scenes in both movies, and meeting the same fate in both. See more »

Classic Universal "B" movie
8 February 2002 | by See all my reviews

A film with a lot of action and a tongue-in-cheek script. Stock footage from "East of Java" and "East of Borneo" is used effectively. Even some of the background music is borrowed from such flicks as "Bombay Mail" and "Son of Frankenstein". A treat for old-time adventure film fans !
