Storyline

The stooges get jobs as census takers and wind up in a fancy mansion looking for people to survey. Moe and Larry are recruited to join a bridge game, while Curly adds Alum to the lemonade. The resulting concoction is consumed by everyone, resulting in puckered lips and shrunken clothes. The boys next try to take the census at a football stadium. They disguise themselves as players and wind up in the middle of the game. Curly runs off with the ball and all the other players in pursuit. Written by Mitch Shapiro <mshapiro@a.crl.com>

Trivia

Near the beginning when Moe Howard explains to the boys that they're working for the Census, Curly Howard asks, "Will Hays?" This is an "in-joke", as Curly is referring to Will Hays, who headed a film industry board called the Production Code Administration--commonly called the "Hays Office"--which was the film industry's censorship board. Quotes

Moe: Now, calm yourself. We're census takers, madam. How old are you?
Larry: What address is this?
Lady having bridge party: One hundred and two.
Moe: You don't look a day over eighty.
Lady having bridge party: Young man, I'm twenty-nine.
Moe: Oh, yeah?
Lady having bridge party: Well, how do I look?
Moe: Oh, you look like a million.
Larry: Ah, she can't be that old. (Larry and Moe open her mouth and check her teeth.) Forty-three.
Moe: Fifty.

Good Three Stooges short! A classic!
22 July 2004 | by See all my reviews

The Three Stooges has always been some of the many actors that I have loved. I love just about every one of the shorts that they have made. I love all six of the Stooges (Curly, Shemp, Moe, Larry, Joe, and Curly Joe)! All of the shorts are hilarious and also star many other great actors and actresses which a lot of them was in many of the shorts! In My opinion The Three Stooges is some of the greatest actors ever and is the all time funniest comedy team!

This is a very funny Three Stooges short. Symona Boniface, Vernon Dent, and John Tyrrell acted very good. The store destruction scenes, the inside the house scenes like the card game and Curly being the chef and Larry on the couch, and the football scenes were very very funny. This is a great one Three Stooges short!
