The only propaganda in this classic is , how to defeat big business
I had trouble with this film after I bought it, from Germanvideo.net.After I watched the movie. I was trying to find out who played Der Sonderbare. I thought this was Paul Bilt. No I finally understood it was a Werner Schott. I found his picture so I was able to remember the face from film. This is an Annie Ondra vehicle. This was one of her last films temporarily. She was married to fighter Max Schmelling and had to help him in his career plus she hated the Nazis, based on film autobiography of max, and wanted to stay away from them as much as possible. Unless I'm wrong I think her last film might of been , for the war, The Gasman. I might be wrong. Paul Klinger, who was also in Die Goldene Staht and Frediricus, plays Tony. He is arguing with his papa, Sepp, played by Josef Eichhiem, with the cook Rosa. Pa Pa wants to sell the ski lodge business cause of the big corp-catting ski lodge, close to them , is drawing customers way from them.Co worker Rolf, played by Karel Stephanik, is siding what Toni. A miracle happens. Dorothy, a traveler played by Anny, shows up as guest and seems to already know they are in the red. She has already plan ahead, because the script says so, to draw more customers for them. How did she know they were in trouble? Because of the script. She pretends that she doesn't know how to ski as a front, While Toni teaches her. then she goes to the corporate lodge and spies on them. She befriends the house doctor Sieck, played by Paul Richter, causing jealousy from his girl friend Margot, played by Gisela Schluter. the tiny independent lodge has only two customers ,played by Willy Schaeffer and Eva Tinschman. This was her biggest part as a character actress.Dorothee starts to fall for Tony and gets Der Sonderbare, played by Werner
Schott to help her. He creates a glider and wants her to experiment with it later on in the picture. Toni finds out in a contest ,that she had plan drawing more people to the lodge, that she can ski. big mishap happens when she writes her daddy about Toni and he comes up there and Toni thinks thats her paramour. This is a funny breezy light romantic comedy. The only symbol in this picture is the fact Hitlers own private resort was in the mountains too. If this movie was shot near there that would be a question mark.
