The Girl Was Young (1937)
Erica Burgoyne: Father, don't you think we ought to ask Mr. Tisdall to dinner?
Christine: Don't shout, I tell you! Don't shout!
Policeman: Now then, Miss, what's your tale?
Alice - Bathing Girl: Well, we were both going down to bathe.
Robert Tisdall: I feel like Bonnie Prince Charlie. You must be Flora MacDonald.
Erica Burgoyne: A good while ago I was Florence Nightingale.
Erica Burgoyne: Oh Robert, if only things would turn out all right.
Robert Tisdall: They started to.
Erica Burgoyne: Why, how do you mean?
Robert Tisdall: You called me Robert.
Erica Burgoyne: Oh, did I? I-I didn't notice it.
Nobby's Lodging House Caretaker: Who wants me? Oh, the Governor. Hello, Duckie.
Erica Burgoyne: We ought to order tea or something if we're going to stay here long.
Old Will: Well, I'd sooner have beers.
Erica Burgoyne: I don't think we can get them at the moment.
Old Will: I better order it, since I'm the man, eh?
Singer: [singing] When it comes to doin' tricks, With a pair of hickory sticks, I'm right here to tell you sister, No one can like the drummer man...
Old Will: What about dancin' around, eh?
Erica Burgoyne: Can you dance?
Old Will: No, of course not, duckie. But, I don't mind havin' a go. It's only half-walkin' anyway.
