Texas cowhand Jim Waters buys an interest in Ed Parks' "Bar Z Ranch" in Arizona, which borders on the "Bar 7 Ranch", owned by Hamp Harvey. Sig Bostell---as in Bostell---knows a railroad is to be built in the district and has a land-grab scheme going to take possession of both ranches. He has Harvey's foreman, Brent, change the brands on the Bar-7 cattle and run them onto the Bar-Z in order to create a feud between the two ranches. Brent murders Parks and makes it appear that Harvey was the culprit. The new CO-OWNER of the Bar Z, Jim Waters, sets out to prove otherwise.
