1. Godfrey knows what kind of person Cornelia is and that she has it out for him. He was probably looking for her to pull some kind of stunt.

2. It's clear that someone had been in his room. The bureau drawer was left open and the covers on his bed were pulled up. The maid is no longer allowed in Godfrey's room, so any evidence that someone had been there would have been suspicious.

Molly is looking for a three-letter word for a seabird, middle letter R. The only word that fits is ERN, another name for the white-tailed eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla).

Is this available on DVD?

Countless distributors have released unauthorized versions of My Man Godfrey (1936) onto VHS and DVD. Beware. Many small distributors market copies of public domain films with poor picture and sound. Others are more reputable and deliver good transfers of the best available prints. Shop around.

We recommend the 2006 DVD from Criterion. Otherwise, you can begin your search here at Amazon.com.

Another lower cost DVD version that has been nicely restored is the 2005 (Key Video) and 2008 (Legend Video) releases that contain both a black and white and colorized versions. Both releases can also be found on Amazon.
