One character has to return to London from Paris by aeroplane. This aeroplane, a Handley Page H.P. 42, the first 4 engine airliner, and which was once the world's largest, a huge silver biplane, is shown landing at some length at Croyden Airfield, with a landing speed of something like 20 mph, virtually stopping on a six pence once the wheels touch the ground. It was said that this plane, which flew throughout the 30s, never had a fatality. I didn't note the markings at the time but it would be easy to identify the individual aircraft from the large registration numbers painted on the side of the aircraft.
