Big Bart, posing as an honest cattleman, is the leader of a gang of bandits terrorizing the town of Fantana. Edith Adams, daughter of the town banker, is returning home on a stagecoach when the driver and guard are ambushed and shot. She sees Big Bart's unusual neck-clasp as he steals the strong-box. When the stagecoach horses run away, she is rescued by Ken Manley, who is camping nearby with his pals, Pedro and Carl. In town, it is decided to have a benefit bard dance to raise money for the dead stagecoach driver's family. and Big Bart deciles that would be a good time to rob the bank. When Edith is dancing with Bart, she recognizes the clasp and tells Ken's of her suspicions that Bart was the stagecoach robber. She, having no knowledge that Bart is planning to rob the bank, tells Ken of her suspicions that Bart robbed the stagecoach, and she is overhead by Bart's henchman, Twister. The bank is robbed and Ken is framed and jailed. But his pal, Pedro, has a plan to get him out of jail, and then set out to prove his innocence.
