On 17 October 1939, songwriters Carl Field, Henry Clarkson and Jeff Clarkson filed suit in the Federal Court in Los Angeles for alleged song plagiarism against 20th Century-Fox Film Corporation, Con Conrad, Herb Magidson and the Sam Fox Publishing Company.
