Mary's father: That's my other daughter there. When on her wedding day, the fella she was about to marry, tried to run away. Did you ever hear of a nerve like that? Well, I took care of that guy. In a room I locked him, then I socked him right in the eye.

The first at Columbia pictures is one of the best!
3 May 2000 | by (Alcoa, Tennessee) – See all my reviews

This short by The Three Stooges was the first one out of Columbia Pictures. It is also one of the very best and original. To all stooge fans, it is also a musical!

Moe, Larry, & Curly play Tommy, Jim, & Jackie respectively who join an organization called The Woman Haters Club. Stooge actor Bud Jamison plays the man in charge. The short starts in typical stooge fashion with Moe slapping the boys around.

Larry meets "a beautiful girl and fell head over heels in love." The "dame" played by up and comer Marjorie White, is the love interest to Larry. He is now stuck between the club and married life with her.

When Moe and Curly get on the train to stop Larry, each one of them falls for her in their own way.

Plenty of slaps, pokes, knocks, and jokes are incorporated in this very funny first Stooge short. Enjoy.
