This film opens with footage originally shot for the RKO comedy Diplomaniacs (1933). Edgar Kennedy and Richard Alexander are briefly seen in this stock footage.
The plot of the short revolves around the illicit trade in addictive garlic salami. The title is a play on words for "Kickin' the Gong Around", slang of the period for Opium use.
