Hell's House review
9 February 2015 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Howard Higgin helped write and directed this movie. The movie's interesting plot with new and exciting drama aspects definitely help to improve the movies quality. While other areas lacked a whole lot of interesting features (i.e the acting and scene changes). The idea of a talking movie was so new in the 1930's that you can't expect a whole lot form the actors. However it almost takes away form how clever the script is. The young man in the movie (Jimmy Mason) is played by Junior Durkin who is a country boy that ventures out into the big city once he realizes he is now an orphan. The appeal of the movie comes from his great adventures and misadventures as a story unfolds about what was really going on during the era of prohibition. While the filming and storyline prove to be exceptionally well thought out, other areas in the movie really take away from the whole experience.
