The second of three co-starring MGM early talkie comedy vehicles for the team of Marie Dressler and Polly Moran. Again Dressler shines in both comedy and drama as Marie Truffle, a mid-western relation who brings her entire family to New York City to join her sister in a beauty salon. There is slapstick a plenty, but there's romance and drama as well.
Dressler was one of a kind and it's tragic that her life was cut short just as she was experiencing so late in life her well deserved super stardom. After only three years of acclaim (1931-33), she died of cancer. See this one along with the other two Moran films, PROSPERITY and POLITICS for a fun time.
