Storyline

No, this is not the film the Reviewer saw about a man who could walk through walls. This is a two-reel short in which Arthur Lake plays a bellhop whose dream is to become the house-detective at the hotel. A robbery at the hotel gives him his opportunity. And the chance to impress his girlfriend, the daughter of the hotel owner. Arthur doesn't walk through any walls in this one. Nor does anybody else. Comedy about a drunk who learns to walk through walls,
4 August 2005 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

A drunk wakes up in a locked room and discovers that he can walk through walls, thus the title Peekaboo.

I saw it 50 years ago and have not forgotten the story. For it's time and budget, it was quite entertaining.

Some romantic themes, business during the depression, a little stilted but still more than the standard fare of that era.

I recall one sight gag where the villains are conspiring and our anti-hero, listens in by sticking his ear through the wall.

In most of it though, he simply walks toward the wall and vanishes, probably by stopping the camera, he gets out of the way, and they restart the camera.

Peekaboo!
