• Continuity: In the final scene of the movie, just as Harpo is about to drop all the cutlery from his sleeve, the camera cuts to a close up of Chico. For an instant his hat is pulled down very low, covering his eyes. However, in the scenes before and immediately after, his hat rests normally on his head.
  
  
• Continuity: In the opening scenes Hives turns to speak to Mrs. Rittenhouse after his opening song, and his waistcoat is different. It continues to swap from one style to another throughout the movie.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: In the scene where Harpo replaces the handgun for a rifle after he shoots himself in the foot, Hives can be seen in the background walking behind the column, clearly waiting to enter later in the scene.
  
  

• Revealing mistakes: In the opening credits, the first name of Groucho's character, Captain Spaulding, is spelled "Jeffrey". Moments later in newspaper clip, his first name is spelled "Geoffrey."
