A Jewel Production. Universal, lacking a theater network, used a 3-tier brand system to sell its pictures: Red Feather (low budget), Bluebird (mainstream) and Jewel (prestige pictures, designed to attract higher roadshow ticket prices). Hoot Gibson, a major studio star, rated the Jewel brand.
