- Title Card: A thousand years ago, long before any white man set foot on the American shore, Viking sea rovers sailed out of the north and down the waterways of the world. These were men of might, who laughed in the teeth of the tempest, and leaped into battle with a song. Plundering - ravaging - they raided the coast of Europe - until the whole world trembled at the very name - THE VIKING.
- Title Card: Helga and Alwin and a handful of the crew were to remain, while Leif returned to Greenland - What became of this little Viking colony, no one knows... But the watch tower they built stands today in Newport, Rhode Island.
- Alwin's Sister: From the sword and the chains of the Vikings, O Lord, deliver us.
- Title Card: The guests were strong - the aie was stronger.
- Leif Ericsson: Now, Helga - you should remember you are no longer a girl, but a lovely woman, and such tempers no longer become you. It is indeed time I took you home to Greenland.
- Leif Ericsson: Now that you are here - I shall wed you in the ancient Viking fashion - after the second change of the moon.
- Eric the Red: This coat is much too big for Leif!
- Thorhild: Not if he has grown as fat as his father.
- Leif Ericsson: When did Vikings ever fear to sail an unknown sea? I thought my crew were men! Have you all become children and cowards? We are bound on the greatest adventure man has ever known - and we do not turn back! Out with the oars! Drive them - drive them!
