The Tragedy of Youth (1928) - Lost ?
9 August 2016 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

It is my ambition to add as many silent film synopsis of films that have a survival status of unknown or presumed lost. I try to do as much research as I can and it is not my intention to deceive anyone, for sometimes the film does exist. I am more than delighted if someone has knowledge of a film listed as lost but survives, as I wish all silent films did survive. I hope the reader enjoys this brief synopsis.

Young newlywed Paula Wayne ( Patsy Ruth Miller ) turns to Frank Gordon ( Warner Baxter ) when her husband, Dick ( William Collier Jr. ), neglects her to practice bowling. Their affair ends when Dick pretends an attempt at suicide, and out of fear Paula consents to a reconciliation. Frank departs on an ocean voyage that ends in disaster, but he returns alive and the lovers are reunited.

This 1928 silent romance/drama was produced by Tiffany-Stahl Productions, with Patsy Ruth Miller, Warner Baxter, William Collier Jr., Claire McDowell, Harvey Clarke, Billie Bennett ( landlady ), Stepin Fetchit ( porter ). The survival status of The Tragedy of Youth is listed in the American Silent Feature Film Database as; No holdings located in archives.
