Trivia

In an interview conducted in the late sixties, von Sternberg claimed he came up with the story for "Street of Sin" while filming "The Last Command" with Emil Jannings. However Jannings was so difficult in that picture that von Sternberg told him he would not work with him again and turned over the treatment for someone else to direct. Jannings and von Sternberg DID work again on 1930's "The Blue Angel", Jannings' final English language film. See more »
