Early Wyler western
17 March 2010 | by (Australia) – See all my reviews

The twenty minutes of surviving footage on this title make it look like a better than average series western, complete with thematic links and some of the film making devices of the other Wyler westerns.

Alvord / Acord's fast horse impresses the cowboys and they can't wait to put their money on him in a race with the visiting duo, who use their wagon horse. All is not what it seems however.

The actual race is quite well handled and probably a highlight of the finished film.

Nitrate decomposition disfigures even the surviving footage and that makes the screening even less satisfactory.
