- "Kodiak" MacLean, after years of gold prospecting in the Alaskan Klondike, finally strikes it rich and hits a million-dollar bonanza. His daughter, Juneau, immediately thinks it is time to move out of the snowdrifts into a suite in New York City's Ritz Hotel. And begins to spend with a shovel what her father made with a pick.—Les Adams <longhorn1939@suddenlink.net>
- When Alaskan miner, Kadiak MacLean strikes gold, sells his mine for a million dollars, and sets out with his daughter, Junie, for New York. En route, they encounter two confidence men--The Colonel and Robert, his son--who, noticing Kadiak's bankroll, ingratiate themselves. In New York they are met by Alan Burkett, the engineer who appraised their mine; and Skeemo, Junie's pet bear, creates a riot in the hotel lobby. Junie discards her outlandish clothes and blossoms in Fifth Avenue fashions, attracting the attentions of Robert. Meanwhile, Kadiak, having professed a marvelous interest in the subway, is being offered a subway station, with its nickle-turnstile privileges, "at a bargain" by The Colonel, but Kadiak refuses to believe that the trains run under the river. Robert tries to get fresh with Juneau, but she knocks him out before Burkett arrives. A happy ending ensues.—Pamela Short
