Marriage License? (1926) - Lost Silent ?
17 August 2015 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

Wanda Heriot ( Alma Rubens ), a Canadian girl, is married to Marcus Heriot ( Walter McGrail ), an English nobleman whose family, dominated by ancestral traditions, rejects her as an outsider. Through the scheming of Lady Heriot ( Emily Fitzroy ), the girl's friendship with an elderly man is misrepresented, and following a divorce, her child is declared illegitimate. After years of self-sacrifice, Wanda has met and fallen in love with Paul ( Walter Pidgeon ). Her ex-husband, Marcus, discovers that his son, Robin ( Richard Walling ), has grown to manhood in France and wants to become a soldier. To give an honorable name to her son, she sacrifices her happiness with Paul and agrees to remarry her repentant ex-husband.

This 1926 silent drama was based from the play The Pelican by F. Tennyson Jesse and Harold Marsh Harwood. Produced by the Fox Film Corporation, the status of Marriage License? is listed as unknown, sadly suggesting it may now be a lost silent film.
