Don't Call It Love (1923) -- Lost Silent ?
2 July 2015 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

Based on the play Rita Coventry by Julian Leonard Street, the 1923 film adaptation was produced by Famous Players-Lasky Corporation and boasted some of silent screens popular stars, including Agnes Ayres, Jack Holt and Rod La Rocque. Sadly it now remains a lost silent and all I can offer the reader is this brief synopsis.

Prima-Donna Rita Coventry ( Nita Naldi ) charms Richard Parrish ( Jack Holt ) from his sweet fiancée, Alice Meldrum ( Agnes Ayres ). Tiring of Parrish, Miss Coventry casts him aside and begins a flirtation with Patrick Delaney ( Rod La Rocque ), a piano tuner of some musical talent. Parrish attempts to return to Alice, who, on the advice of a girl friend, rebuffs him, but later she agrees to become his wife.
