The Alaskan (1924) -- Lost Silent
31 July 2015 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

When Alan Holt ( Thomas Meighan ) is unable to obtain help from the government when his father is murdered by henchmen of a big business syndicate in Alaska headed by John Graham ( Alphonz Ethier ), he decides to fight the combination alone. Returning home, he befriends Mary Standish ( Estelle Taylor ), who seeks refuge from the mistreatment of Graham. Eventually Graham is killed when he falls over a precipice, and Alan and Mary are free to marry.

This 1924 silent drama was produced by the Famous Players-Lasky Corporation and filmed on location in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. Starring Thomas Meighan and Estelle Taylor, with Anna May Wong also in the cast, though no information on the part she played, sadly this film now remains a lost silent.
