The Prisoner (1923) - Lost Silent ?
27 August 2015 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

While travelling in Europe, Philip Quentin ( Herbert Rawlinson ) encounters his former sweetheart, Dorothy Garrison ( Eileen Percy ), and finds that she is now engaged to Prince Ugo Ravorelli ( Bertram Grassby ), whom Philip recognizes as the man wanted for a murder in Brazil. Philip avoids being trapped by Prince Ugo into a fatal duel, then kidnaps Dorothy at her wedding. She is at first adamant, but after Philip saves her from Courant ( Bert Sprotte ), the prince's henchman, Dorothy realizes she loves Philip.

This 1923 silent drama/romance was based on the novel, Castle Craneycrow by George Barr McCutcheon. Produced by Universal Pictures Corporation, starring Herbert Rawlinson, Eileen Percy and featuring Boris Karloff as Prince Kapolski. Sadly, The Prisoner remains a lost silent film.
