You Never Know (1922) -- Lost Film ?
PamelaShort22 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Leader of a Latin American revolution, Carlos Medina ( George Field ) is visiting Jasper Folansbee ( James Conway ), a backer of the revolutionists, and is courting Folansbee's daughter, Miriam ( Gertrude Astor ). As a result of striking Muggsy ( Coy Watson Jr. ), a young waif, with her automobile, Miriam encounters Eddie Manning ( Earle Williams ), a mysterious American who frequents a Spanish bar, and offers him employment as her chauffeur. Eddie has learnt from Inez ( Claire Du Brey ), a Spanish dancer, that Medina has only his own gain in mind; he stations Muggsy to watch Medina's yacht and is imprisoned in the bar. Rescued by Muggsy in time to pursue the fleeing Medina, Eddie reveals himself to be a Secret Service agent, exposes the South American as a swindler of both his people and Folansbee, and rescues a grateful Miriam.

This 1922 mystery/drama was produced by the Vitagraph Film Company and sadly remains a lost silent film.
