Did You Know?
The first official series title was "Hal Roach's Rascals." But the series also came to be known as "The Our Gang Comedies" simply because the name of this film caught on so well with the trade press and exhibitors who saw the preview. (Of course, the best-known title, "The Little Rascals," came decades later when the series was shown on television. And note a coincidence: Century Comedies released a film the same year "Our Gang" was launched called The Little Rascal
(1922).) See more
