• Soviet editors re-cut the Dr. Mabuse films into one shorter film and titled it "Gilded Putrefaction."
  
  
• The Image Entertainment DVD release of Dr. Mabuse omits several scenes. Between the Stock Market sequence and the beginning of the Folies Bergere sequence, there is a crucial scene of Dr. Mabuse giving a psychological lecture to a society. This establishes Mabuse as a bona fide doctor, and makes his criminality and cruelty all the more perverse.
  
  
• The U.S. release through Janus Films divides this into two separate films: "Dr. Mabuse, the Gambler" (at 120 minutes) and "Dr. Mabuse, King of Crime" (at 93 minutes).
  
  
• The complete restored version of this film is now available (June 2004) on a double DVD from Eureka in the UK. This version includes the scenes not present in the US Image Entertainment release.
