Exclusive: Eric Roberts to Join Bones' T.J. Thyne on Gypsy-Centric Episode of The Finder

22 November 2011 11:46 AM, PST | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

Looks like T.J. Thyne will have some interesting company — and an unusual mission — when he pops up on an episode of Fox’s Bones spinoff The Finder early next year.

Eric Roberts has been cast in Episode 9 as Uncle Shadrack, the revered head of a gypsy family to which Willa (series regular Maddie Hasson) happens to belong — and will attempt to prove her worth.

Meanwhile, Thyne’s Dr. Jack Hodgins will come to Geoff Stults’ Walter for help in finding “an object that no one in the government believes to exist,” according to a show source.

Matthew Fox Arrested for Assault, Brad Pitt Hailed as a Hero on 'World War Z' Set

29 August 2011 7:45 AM, PDT | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

Filed under: Movie News, Celebrity Gossip

(Updated) Two big names on location, two very different stories to report:

'Lost' fans will not be happy to hear that Matthew Fox, who played heroic (but hotheaded) Dr. Jack Shephard, has just been arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman. Fox, who is in Cleveland filming 'I, Alex Cross,' was arrested early Monday morning after reportedly punching a female bus driver in the chest and stomach after she refused to let him board a private bus. The driver told TMZ the actor was drunk and that she had to punch him back in "self-defense."

Meanwhile, over the weekend, Pitt was praised for his heroics in coming to an extra's aid on the 'World War Z' set when she fell while filming a crowd scene. According to local reports, a group of over 700 extras was filming a scene in Glasgow's George Square, »

Now I lay me down to sleep

2 July 2011 3:48 AM, PDT | blogs.suntimes.com/ebert | See recent Roger Ebert's Blog news »

Although most religions forbid it, human societies throughout history have accepted suicide as a reality. Sometimes, as in Japan, it was seen as a matter of personal honor. Usually it was seen as an act of despair, or a manifestation of insanity. It can also be seen as a rational act, and to assist someone in committing it can be seen as an act of mercy.

I have never, even in my darkest hours, considered suicide. But with my troubles I have been fortunate; I've never had unbearable physical pain. In Barry Levinson's movie "You Don't Know Jack," Dr. Jack Kevorkian's best friend says his mother told him: "Imagine the worst toothache you've ever had. Now imagine that's how it feels in every bone of your body."

After Paul Schrader assured me Al Pacino's performance in the film was the best of the year, I rented it from Netflix, »

Matthew Fox and Ed Harris in World War Z

15 June 2011 8:45 AM, PDT | Boomtron | See recent Boomtron news »

There’s some fresh meat joining the fight against the undead, according to Deadline, as Matthew Fox and Ed Harris report for duty in World War Z, the Marc Forster-directed film based on Max Brooks’ novel with the same name.

Fox and Harris will be joining Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, and James Badge Dale in the story that revolves around a U.N. researcher (Pitt) interviewing survivors ten years after a zombie plague wiped out most of mankind. Enos plays Pitt’s wife and Dale portrays Captain Speke, one of the first military people to encounter the re-animated dead. Fox, who might be recognized by Lost fans as Dr. Jack Shephard, will be taking on a role simply known as ‘Parajumper’ while Harris’ part is still unknown.

World War Z starts production this month with a possible release date in summer 2012 because Paramount will want something big showing on »

Matthew Fox, Ed Harris in Talks for 'World War Z'

14 June 2011 11:30 AM, PDT | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

Matthew Fox and Ed Harris are in talks to join Brad Pitt in 'World War Z,' which kind of means that Nazi hunter Lt. Aldo Rayne of 'Inglourious Basterds,' 'The Rock''s renegade Brigadier General Francis X. Hummel, and 'Lost''s Dr. Jack Shephard are teaming up to fight zombies. Sweet.

Also in talks are James Badge Dale (of 'The Pacific' miniseries and AMC's 'Rubicon' fame) and Mireille Enos from TV's 'The Killing.'

Marc Forster is directing the film, an adaptation of the Max Brooks novel set 10 years after a worldwide zombie infestation. The pic is budgeted at a whopping $125 million.

Getting Fox on board might require a bit of schedule juggling since 'Wwz' is slated to begin this month and his next film, 'I, Alex Cross,' is scheduled for an August shoot. (Either that »

Academic, artist and trailblazer Dr. Jack Kevorkian, dead at 83

'Awake': TV about reality, not reality TV for this NBC newcomer

15 May 2011 2:35 PM, PDT | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Michael Britten (played by Jason Isaacs) is a cop with a foot in two worlds. In one, his wife is alive and his son is dead. In the other, he's got his son, but his wife is gone. Which is real and which the dream? He's not sure and, presumably, neither is the viewer.

NBC announced "Awake" (previously "Rem") as part of its lineup of new shows for the 2011-2012 season, though it hasn't yet grabbed a debut date and time.

Dreams vs. reality did well at the box office for Christopher Nolan's "Inception," but will the concept transfer to TV? It could given strong writing and a good cast. The show is penned by Kyle Killen -- who also wrote the now-in-theaters (limited release) Mel Gibson/Jodie Foster movie, "The Beaver" and the doomed, though critically acclaimed, "Lone Star." Joining Isaacs in front of the camera is an eclectic cast including Wilmer Valderrama, »

Lost’s Matthew Fox Lands the Villain in I, Alex Cross

18 March 2011 1:38 AM, PDT | Filmofilia | See recent Filmofilia news »

Matthew Fox has signed on to play the villain in I, Alex Cross, the reboot of the James Patterson franchise character with Tyler Perry starring and Rob Cohen helming the project.

Edward Burns has also signed on to play Tommy Kane, Cross’s partner.

You may have overlooked that Tyler Perry, a couple of months ago, took over a lead role in I, Alex Cross for Idris Elba — the crime busting psychologist Dr. Alex Cross. Opposite his virtuous Lost character Jack Shepard, Fox will be making over his image as the ‘childlike trust’ nice guy, taking the role of Michael Sullivan a.k.a the Butcher of Sligo, a brutal assassin who kills for kicks and money. After Cross messed up one of his assignments, the Butcher kills Cross’ wife and after that it’s game between the two. Sullivan is one of the best known villains in the Patterson’s novel series. »

Theatre Review: In A Forest Dark And Deep

16 March 2011 10:14 AM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Last night I attended a showing of In A Forest Dark and Deep, a dark comedy thriller from playwright and director Neil Labute (In The Company of Men, Lakeview Terrace) that stars Fox and Olivia Williams as two siblings in a psychological back-and-forth wordplay and that is playing at the Vaudeville Theatre in London throughout March & April, all the way to June 4th.

Now there’s stepping outside of your comfort zone and then there’s being dragged out by your balls, and with this play it’s definitely a case of the latter.

Even before the curtain is raised, writer/director Neil Labute is already getting a firm grip on your sack- Audience’s take their seats to a blaring playlist that includes artists such as The Doors, Led Zeppelin and System Of A Down, to name but a few. But what some haven’t »

Fox hints that on the February 10 new episode of Bones, Booth will make a decision about his relationship with Hannah.  Will that be the last we see of her or will he commit to her more fully?  We've already posted promo photos for the February 3 episode (view them here) and now we have photos and a summary for the February 10 episode.

Bones Photos & Promo: Polygamy Comes to Bones!

29 January 2011 7:40 AM, PST | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

The last episode of Bones was terrific, wasn't it?  It set in place what I think will be a great story arc for Booth about his sniper history, even if it was one of the grossest episodes ever.  A new episode of Bones will be airing on February 3 and it's going to be like an episode of Big Love, with a polygamist the victim of murder (well, Big Love in the sense of multiple wives, not the polygamist dying).  Will the episode help Booth recognize his feelings for Brennan?

Below we have promo photos, a synopsis and a trailer from Fox.

Bones Photo Preview: The Gravedigger Returns

Bones is finally back from its midseason hiatus tonight, but we're already looking ahead to the next new episode on January 27.  It's going to be a big one, folks.  Brennan's father returns, as does The Gravedigger, who's ready to face her final appeal in court.  But a mysterious sniper takes a shot at her, bringing a lot of people - including Booth - under suspicion.  It looks like this will be the first episode in a multi-episode arc featuring a sniper that will cause Booth to face a lot of issues regarding his past profession.

Below are promo photos and a synopsis for the January 27 new episode of Bones.  I'm sure this is an episode we don't want to miss!

Fgt’s Golden Globes Wrap-up Spectacular

17 January 2011 12:40 PM, PST | Planet Fury | See recent Planet Fury news »

The dust has cleared following the first major show of this year's awards season. Last night, the Hollywood elite gathered at the Beverly Hilton Hotel for the 68th annual Golden Globes, presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, and the only real surprise was how willing the winners were to bite the hand that awarded them.

As I wrote Here, the HFPA has been dealing with the after-effects of a scandal. Last year, the HFPA was accused of "unsavory business practices" (cough, accepting bribes, cough) by its former PR rep Michael Russell, who filed a wrongful termination suit last week against the HFPA and its president, Phil Berk. It's been an open secret for years that the HFPA is essentially a group of self-important hangers-on that will do almost anything for a free meal and a photo op with their favorite stars. And everyone in Hollywood plays along because, in »
